People said "don't judge book by its cover", but I (almost) always bought books by their cover. I tended to buy books because the cover was looks good, cute or pretty. Yes, I am lil 'bit impulsive and visual oriented.
The first reason I bought Beats Apart was because the cover looks instagramable. You know, something that would look pretty if you posted in Instagram. So basically I didn't know about the writer or the synopsis. I just bought it.
But for this time, I was lucky. When I read the first paragraph, I know I would like this book. Beats Apart was written by Alanda Kariza and Kevin Aditya. In generally, it was about a love story within F and M which told alternately by Alanda and Kevin.
It was about F and M's feeling while they're apart. How they're facing the loneliness and sense of loss when they can not see each other. They're not only learned how to fight that but also how to face their fears. F who secretly missed M and tried hard to not call him. And M wasbtrying hard to fight his fear losing the people around him. Sometimes I felt like F and the other time I felt like M.
It was a happy ending. But I loved how Alanda and Kevin told the story. By using the simple English, they can told the emotions in each characters. What I learned from this book are being grateful for everything that I have, never keep my feelings by myself and how to forgive the past.
And it was not only about the story but also the book, physically. In every beginning of the story, there was a black-and-white photo that shot in interesting angle. I loved that. Like I said before, it was so instagramable.
This book very recommended. You should buy the book and enjoy the F and M story.
You woke me up from a distant past
I left behind complete
The message that you sent that night now
falls to bittersweet
Was it me, my honesty?
You fail to show, I never know
It wasn't me who made the call..
Cause now I wanna be where you sleep.
-F
I am seeing the face of a true love
A condition I am desperately looking for
With her,
With you.
If I were to lose you today...
Am I ready?
-M
Happy reading,
